CPEMS – Certificate Program in Emergency Medical Services
About the Program
The Certificate Program in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a skill-focused, practice-oriented training program designed for nursing students who aspire to work in emergency departments, trauma units, ICUs, ambulances, and disaster response teams.
This program equips learners with core emergency nursing competencies, including rapid patient assessment, life-saving interventions, trauma care, obstetric and pediatric emergency management, and disaster preparedness—covering both hospital and pre-hospital emergency care settings.
Through structured learning and guided clinical exposure, learners gain a clear understanding of emergency protocols, patient assessment, and team-based care practices commonly followed in emergency departments and critical care units.
What You’ll Learn
On successful completion of the program, learners will be able to:
Perform rapid and systematic emergency patient assessment
Deliver effective nursing care during medical, trauma, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies
Apply Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR protocols confidently
Assist in airway, breathing, cardiovascular, and shock management
Apply triage principles during mass casualty incidents and disasters
